REGARDING the street drinking in St Helens town centre and the fact the council has removed benches from the front of the town hall because drinkers are gathering there.

Removing the benches is not going to solve the problem - every day we have to walk past these people, arguing and shouting at each other then throwing insults at people that are walking past.

And it’s just getting worse and worse there are more of them now the police actually pull up and chat with them.

It’s a huge problem that is just being ignored.
