I AM honoured to have been elected to serve as the new MP for St Helens North.

I grew up here, live here, and I’m raising my children here. This is my home, and I will always have our community’s best interests at heart.

The Labour government has a huge task ahead after 14 years of Conservative chaos, decline and scandal, but we have a plan for national renewal and I look forward to getting on with the job of delivering our manifesto and ensuring it works for people here in St Helens North.

I have already been down in Parliament this week beginning that work, and I’m in the process of setting up my offices and advice surgery details. I will share more information about this as soon as possible.

I would like to thank all those who voted for me and all those who have been in touch to wish me well. I will never take any vote for granted, and I want all residents to know that whether or not you voted for me and the Labour Party, I will do all I can to represent you and our proud local area to the best of my ability.
