IN response to the reader calling for people to stop bashing St Helens and to back the plans that will try to breathe new life into the town.

It’s absolutely true, time to move on, it’s been a disastrous last 40-plus years, nearly every decision made was a bad one.

Hopefully those people have gone or been put out to pasture and replaced by intelligent forward thinking innovative people.

Support the efforts of local businesses, there are many really trying to make a difference.

This weekend is Pride on Saturday and St Helens music festival on Sunday.

Make the effort and support them both, even for a couple of hours.
