REGARDING St Helens’ problems.
We lost all our major industries in a short space of time. The pits, Pilks, Beechams, Carbo and all the supporting businesses.
We couldn’t replace all that with a few trading estates.
We used to be a destination, now we’re a point of departure. Been happening since the Thatcher years.
