WE went to the Rugby League World Cup Final on Saturday at Old Trafford.
After a really enjoyable tournament, it was hugely disappointing the men’s and women’s sides did not reach the showpiece.
However, it was still a superb occasion and a great atmosphere.
The highlight for me wasn’t the action on the pitch – it was the arrival of Kevin Sinfield at half-time after completing his Ultra seven marathons in seven days with his team.
He received an extraordinary response and his words – in a world that it’s easily to become depressed about - lifted the hearts.
He said: “It’s all about friendship and the love for Rob. I know everybody feels the same way I do about Rob Burrow.
“If we can all try to be a better friend from time to time, we can all have a bit of a better place to live in.”
What an amazing person. Arise Sir Kev, surely.
