SAINTS coach Royce Simmons felt his side deserved both points from their trip to a rain-lashed Bradford.

He was speaking after seeing Jamie Foster kick the match-levelling goal after the hooter had sounded.

But the match produced plenty of talking points.

Simmons said: “I thought we should got two points but at the end of the day, although Bradford played good, I thought we were the slightly better side.

“We created more opportunities and the two they scored they had to go up in the air to get them.

“We got over the line two other times and had them disallowed and will be looking at them closely.”

He expressed a little disquiet over the way some decisions are being made – particularly the failure of the opposition to be penalised for offside.

“Bradford got in front with a penalty I will be surprised after I look at the video if there was not a penalty opportunity for us in that last five minutes “This year we have only had three penalties awarded to us for being inside the ten. The nearest side to us is six awards and most other teams are 15 to 18. I asked Stuart Cummins to try and explain a few weeks ago,” Simmons said.

James Roby set up two tries, despite playing with a fractured cheekbone.

It was an effort that was praised by the Saints boss.

“James Roby was really brave. We had a fitness test really late. We hit him across the head with pads and did some thorough tests with him. At the last minute we decided to play him.

“It was a good effort from the international players who not only played well but also played a long time too.

“Jon Wilkin played 70 minutes and James Graham played 60 in the front row.

“Paul Wellens and James Roby both played a little bit busted. It was a good strong effort from both of them to play,” Simmons Francis Meli picked up a deadleg in the Exiles game but he will return for Friday’s game at home to Wigan.
