SAINTS have confirmed their 35-man squad list and shirt numbers for the 2025 rugby league season.

Given the key departures and a trio of new arrivals there are some significant number changes – and a number of headlines, but no great shocks.

As expected NRL recruit Kyle Feldt steps into the number 2 shirt worn for more than a decade by Tommy Makinson, who joined Catalans Dragons in the off-season.

With fellow NRL recruit Tristan Sailor assigned the number 6 jersey that has been worn by Jonny Lomax since 2020.

That means full circle for club captain Lomax, who reverts to the number 7 shirt he last wore in the two seasons 2012-13 and preceded his six years wearing number 1.

Winger Lewis Murphy, Saints’ third 2025 recruit, will wear number 20 in his maiden St Helens campaign with Jon Bennison retaining the number 5 shirt.

As announced following his contract renewal, Konrad Hurrell takes the number 3 for his fourth season in the red vee.

Other changes see Curtis Sironen move up from the 16 worn in the past three campaigns and he takes departed Sione Mata’utia’s 11 shirt.

Matt Whitley takes number 16, with George Delaney, the club’s back-to-back Young Player of the Year and nominee for Super League’s Young Player of the Year, moving up to 19.

Noah Stephens had a strong breakout year in 2024 and has earned the number 21, with fellow young Saints Jake Burns (23), Jonny Vaughan (24) and Leon Cowen (31) all moving up in number order.

Four of the 2024 Academy class are part of the 2025 first team. Speedy and elusive full back or stand off Harry Robertson had a breakthrough season after making his Super League debut in July and was given the 33 shirt but heading into his first official full-time pre-season he will wear 26.

Saints Academy Captain in 2024, and a try-scorer on his Saints senior debut, George Whitby has been issued the 27 shirt.

Owen Dagnall, who was elevated into the first team during the summer but did not play, has the number 30 shirt.

Two more members from the 2024 Academy Grand Final have received their first Saints squad numbers They are Jake Davies (34), who shone in the Under 18s and played for the England Academy against France, and Cole Marsh (35), who scored in the Saints’ Reserves Grand Final victory during September.

Two more young Saints from the Reserves Champions step up into the first team ranks - Ciaran Nolan (32) and the Saints’ Reserves Player of the Year in 2024, Alfie Sinclair (33).
