A WET and windy Edge Hill University Grounds was the setting for the 2024 North West Counties Road Relays.
St Helens Sutton A.C. were represented in various age groups and once again were among the medals.
The Senior Ladies Team of Lucy Fairclough, Taylor Massey and Lucy Clitheroe finished 3rd Merseyside team earning Bronze medals in respective times of 17m43s, 20m43s and 18m53s for the 5km Course.
The U 17Ladies Team of Lily Birkett 11m10s, Nicole Anders 12m30s and Niamh Waring also claiming Bronze Medals over a 2.8km course.
The Senior Men led off by Matt Crehan in 15m31s, followed by Joe Buckley 16m13s, Gabriel Mullen 17m10s and Steve Anders 18m23s also clinching 3rd spot over the 5km distance.
Senior Men (B) Michael Brussels 19m11s, Joe Byrne 19m45s, Chris Birkett 19m10s and Barry Graney 21m45s.
Other athletes competing very well for the Club in difficult conditions were U13 Boys 2.8km, Lucas Vine 12m16s, James Goddard 12m25s and Woody Kelly 12m12s. U13 Girls 2.8km (A) Tess Mullen 12m47s, Mellis Goddard 12m26s and Sophia Hunter 11m27s. (B) Sophie Barr 12m14s, Juliana Roberts 15m 44s and Lily McKeegan 13m47s.
U15 Boys 2.8km Dylan Roberts 11m1s, Bobby Birkett 9m54s and Riley Underhill 10m41s .
Earlier on in the week three of the Clubs female runners had taken part in the Wigan 10k.
Lucy Fairclough had a great run finishing second Lady in a time of 36m24 secs, while Niamh Waring and Jane Makin posted times of 1hr 5m 43s and 1hr 19m 30s for the undulating course.
