IT is all change at the Lane as Liverpool St Helens look forward to the new season starting with a visit to Trafford MV this Saturday.
Playing in a new division (Counties ADM 1), with a new Head Coach, a new President, a new 3rd XV, a new Junior Chairman and a newly improved drainage system.
Adam Jackson, a former player with Premiership professional experience at London Scottish as well as spells at Neath and Grenoble, takes the helm at Moss Lane returning to the club where he had a short spell coaching the colts.
Ian Jackson, who made his debut for the Liverpool club 70 years ago when aged 16 in an era when they played at Liverpool Cricket Club, takes on the Presidency.
Somewhat bucking the current trend, the club has experienced a resurgence of interest amongst former players and together with the current crop of enthusiastic colts, have reformed the 3rd XV.
Led by the experienced Tony Hudson they now join the NOWIRUL League ladder at Division 5 West.
Craig Forster, supported by an active group of coaches and helpers, takes over the mini and Junior section from Chris Hayes, stepping down after an excellent marathon stint.
Some things though, stay the same.
The hugely successful Women’s and Girl’s section look to continue their relentless progress up the RFU Leagues and continue the development of age group teams.
Paddy Royle continues as 1st XV Captain and there is always a warm welcome for everyone with a roaring fire in the traditional Moss Lane fireplace.
