ST HELENS Sutton Athletics Club member Darren Scott struck gold in the World Masters Athletics Championships held in Sweden.
MV55 Scott took the Gold Medal in the 200 metres, a magnificent achievement when taking into account the quality of the opposition.
This came after he earned a Bronze Medal in the 100 metres earlier on in the week.
Scott has been in excellent form all season.
Meanwhile the Trafford A.C. Medal meeting in Manchester saw four of the Club's Junior members taking part.
In the U13 Girls there was a Bronze Medal for Tess Mullen in the 150 metres and a Silver Medal in the Long Jump.
In the U15 Girls Daisy Hatton won a Gold Medal in the 200 metres and a Silver Medal in the 100 metres and in the Under 17 Girls, Madison Smith earned a Bronze Medal in the 100 metres and Heather Grant also claimed a Bronze Medal in the 200 metres.
