SAINTS are appealing the Match Review Panel's decision to ban wingman Tommy Makinson for three games.
The experienced wingman was sent off in the 74th minute of the 42-6 defeat at home to Hull KR.
He was subsequently charged by today's MRP that deemed in to be a Grade D head contact on Hull KR's
The appeal will now go to the Operational Rules Tribunal which is independent from the MRP.
Gutted is an understatement!

Hope that isn’t the end of my journey at the TWS.
Thanks for all the messages.
Makinson tweeted: "Gutted is an understatement. Hope that this isn't the end of my journey at the TWS. Thanks for all the messages."
Saints have had little joy with their appeals this term, but feel they have a good case despite Makinson's record.
He picked up a similar three match ban for a red card at Castleford in May, which will not help.
But on the day there was no appeal from the opposition, including from the injured party Tyrone May.
Losing Makinson from this spell where they need to win at least two matches to make the top six is a blow.
Barring a successful appeal, unless Saints climb to fourth in the remaining four weeks and earn a home eliminator, then Makinson will not wear the red vee at TWS again.
Following the latest round of Betfred Super League fixtures, the Match Review Panel have issued the following sanctions.
Kelepi Tanginoa (Hull KR) - Grade B Dangerous Contact - £250 Fine.
Elliot Minchella (Hull KR) - Grade B Trips - £250 Fine.
James Batchelor (Hull KR) - Grade B Dangerous Contact - 1 Match Penalty Notice (Higher End).
Tommy Makinson (St Helens) - Grade D Head Contact - 3 Match Penalty Notice and £250 Fine.
Patrick Mago (Wigan Warriors) - Grade B Dangerous Contact - £250 Fine.
John Asiata (Leigh Leopards) - Grade C Dangerous Contact - 1 Match Penalty Notice.
Rob Butler (London Broncos) - Grade B Dangerous Contact - £250 Fine.
