RAINFORD have made it the final of the Ray Digman Trophy for the second consecutive year after comprehensively beating Wigan on Sunday.
Jason Login was the hero for the holders as he struck an unbeaten 90 from just 58 balls to seal a seven wicket win after the visitors were bowled out for just 137 with skipper John Dotters taking 5-18.
Rainford will meet either Formby or Ormskirk in the final.
In the Liverpool Competition Premier Division, meanwhile, Dotters' side sit fourth in the table after a narrow defeat to title contenders Northern. Batting first, Rainford made 159 all out before the Crosby outfit reached the target for the loss of seven wickets. Dotters took 4-71.
Rainhill had an easy time against bottom side New Brighton who made 131 all out thanks to spells from Jamie Harrison (5-44) and Khalid Usman (3-33). Billy Godleman's unbeaten 57 sealed a seven wicket win.
Newton le Willows' Ahmad Safi Abdullah took 6-56 as they bowled out Formby for 144 but they crumbled to 79 all out in reply.
St Helens Town are in the Division One relegation places after a heavy defeat at Orrell Red Triangle who made 234-4 before Town were dismissed for 88.
Sutton went top of Division Two following a close victory over Northop Hall. Cronje Van Greunen's 46 helped set the Welsh side 172 for victory but Andy Cowley (3-11) and Jamie Greener (3-48) sealed a four run win.
