THERE was more success on the track for St Helens runner Lewis Shaw in the English Schools Athletics Championships held at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham from 12-13 July.

Shaw, who runs for Warrington AC, was representing Merseyside in the Intermediate Boys 100 metres hurdles Lewis.

He won his heat with a time of 13.36 seconds to qualify for Saturday’s final.

In that final Shaw stormed to the Gold medal in a new personal best time of 13.11 seconds.

In winning the title Shaw has earned selection for the SIAB Schools International to be held at Carmarthen Athletics Track on July 20.

This is his first International selection and hopefully leads to many more.
