RAINFORD are second in the Love Lane Liverpool Competition Premier League after thrashing Wigan by 153 runs.
Paul Farrar hit an unbeaten 118 and Jason Login 65 as the hosts declared on an imposing score of 250-3 off 55 overs. Skipper John Dotters then cut through the Wigan batters taking 6-31.
Rainhill registered an excellent two wicket win over Formby after excellent bowling from Khalid Usman (6-58) and Saeed Ullah (3-45) restricted the visitors to 191-9 before Saeed (67) led a successful run chase.
Ben Walkden struck an unbeaten 110 for Newton-le-Willows with skipper Chris Chambers also contributing 53 as they declared on 237-3 at Leigh. Ahmad Safi Abdullah then claimed 6-64 as the hosts collapsed to 193 all out.
St Helens Town remain bottom of Division One despite earning their second win of the season at home to Fleetwood Hesketh. Town's James Davies (39) top scored as Town made 184 all out before Sibusiso Maseko (4-49) and Danny Feeney (3-36) combined to seal a 28 run win.
Sutton are second in Division Two after a big win at Parkfield Liscard. Batting first, the visitors made 242-9 with Thomas Hicklin (57) top scoring. Alex Oldfield (4-27) and Natalie Brown (3-33) ensured a 125 run victory.
