NEWTON le Willows scored an important win in their Liverpool Competition Premier League clash with previously unbeaten Wigan.
Ahmad Safi Abdullah (5-39) and Ben Walkden (3-33) did the damage for the hosts as Wigan were bowled out for 104 before Walkden (41no) helped seal a four wicket victory.
Rainford's William Threlkeld (37) top scored as his side reached 119 all out at home to Birkenhead Park. The visitors, who handed a debut to Sri Lankan Test bowler, Malinda Pushpakumara, were dismissed for 103 in reply with John Dotters (5-22) doing the damage.
Rainhill's Khalid Usman top scored with 47 as they reached 127 all out against Northern before the visitors chased down the target for the loss of three wickets.
St Helens Town are bottom of Division One after they were bowled out for 92 by visitors Maghull who completed a six wicket win.
In Division Two, Sutton's Andy Cowley (4-24) and Cronje Van Greunen (3-31) bowled well to restrict Hightown St Mary's to 154 all out but their run chase ended with the visitors 28 runs short.
