LUCEM House in Corporation Street will host a fascinating peep into the 1950s to 1970s next Wednesday (8 May) with a Saints on Film presentation featuring clips from the club’s glorious history.
The afternoon, which commences at 1.30pm, features colour footage from the archive of Graham Gerrard, Brian Potter and Alex Service.
Games featured include the Lancashire Cup final 1953 against Wigan and the Wembley clashes of 1961 and 1966 against the old foe.
1970s clashes include the Challenge Cup final of 1972 and 1976 against Leeds and Widnes respectively, as well as the Premiership final against Salford.
There is also an extra feature ‘Goodbye Knowsley Road 1890-2010’ from Joel Bowling.
The afternoon will see special guests from Saints’ past playing roster with Brian McGinn, Peter Harvey, Jimmy Measures and Les Jones.
