THE sight of England centre Mark Percival striding purposefully down the left edge augurs well for the year ahead after an injury-hit 2020.
Percival appeared to look a bit bigger and stronger having spent his time away from the field working on his strength and fitness.
And after watching him hit the hole on the left to set up Kevin Naiqama's try, ,coach Kristian Woolf backed the 26-year-old Widnesian for a good season.
Woolf said: "Mark has worked really hard on his body.
"He had an unlucky year last season – coming off one injury and rolling into another.
"He never got an opportunity to get going last year.
"He’s worked hard and had no time off so he can work on his body to get ready for a pre-season.
"He looked really good against Leigh and I have no doubt whatsoever that he will come back strong, and very early in the season.
"I don’t think it take him long at all – and I have no doubts he will be one of the best centres in the competition and play for England in the World Cup."
