SAINTS are heading off for a week of intense warm-weather training to get themselves up to the mark for the 2020 Super League season and the World Club Challenge match.

The whole of Kristian Woolf's first team squad, including the youngsters, are heading to Tenerife next week to work on skills and build as a group.

Woolf said: "We have had discussions about it for a while and I think it is a good idea, so too does the club.

"We all liked the idea and think we will get plenty of benefit out of it.

"It is going to be good for the squad and for the coaching staff and means not only will we be able to get more work into them on the field, but also off the field.

"There are plenty of things we want to cover. It will be a big week and a busy week. There will be a lot of benefits as well.

"It is as much as what we do physically as well as how we combine as a group."

Saints will have an open training session at Ruskin tomorrow (Saturday) - and the fans are invited to watch them.
