CLOCK Face Miners took a significant step closer to retaining their NCL Division 2 status with a hard fought 14-12 win away at Hull Dockers.
Clock were on the front foot from the kick off but, frustratingly were unable to finish off some well created chances.
It was the home side who eventually got on the scoreboard after 35 minutes with a converted try under the sticks.
However, Clock were quick to reply when Luke Forber touched down a perfectly weighted, Lewis Geraghty, kick. Shaun Costello slotted over the conversion to level the scores at half time.
Clock edged in front ten minutes into the second half when burly prop, Brad Davies, took a short pass from Geraghty to power over the line with Ian Webster converting.
Clock stretched their lead to eight points with a Costello penalty.
However, a Hull try with 7 minutes to play created a nervy finale but the Clock defence held firm to secure the win.
