SIN-BINNING was deemed sufficient punishment for all three Hull FC players yellow carded in Sunday’s Challenge Cup clash at Saints.
The match review panel looked at all three cases.
In the incident involving Danny Houghton on Danny Richardson in the 28th minute the panel stated: “Player makes tackle on opponent who is returning the ball from a kick. Player makes contact in wrapping motion as opponent is turning in the tackle and beginning to dip and go to ground.
“As opponent goes to ground player maintains grip around neck/head area. Other defenders then join the tackle and apply weight to the tackle.
“The impact of the other defenders results in pressure being applied to head/neck of opponent. Sin Bin Sufficient.”
The view of Danny Washbrook’s nudge to Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook’s head on the 29th minute was: “Player pushes opponent with his leg to head area of opponent as opponent is regaining feet.
“Petulant act with low level of force. Sin Bin Sufficient.”
Meanwhile Masi Matongo’s late tackle on Jonny Lomax, in the 56th minute was also deemed sin-bin sufficient.”
The report said: “Player makes late contact with back of opponent after ball has been passed. No contact with head of opponent.”
There was no need for further action against any of the Saints players flagged up for incidents in the game, with penalty sufficient for McCarthy-Scarsbrook's tackle on Albert Kelly.
