SAINTS prop Tony Puletua has been drafted into the Samoa World Cup squad to replace Reni Maitua.
The former Kiwi test player, who will joion Salford next season, will be available for the final group game in France and the knockout stages.
Sanmoa asked for permission to replace him and in this instance the request has been granted.
The basis of this decision was that due to injuries the Samoa squad has been reduced to 21 players. The loss of three players in similar positions was considered by the tournament to be exceptional circumstances.
Harrison Hansen, Frank Winterstein and Reni Maitua have been formally removed from the squad.
That will probably mean that Saints backrower Sia Soliola will continue as captain.
RLWC2013 Competition Rules provide for a squad of 24 players to compete in the tournament.
After Oct 21 any requests for changes to this squad are strictly at the discretion of the tournament and only granted in exceptional circumstances.
