PETS at Home, in St Helens, is holding a series of free pet workshops for children throughout the half term holiday.
The workshops have been designed to increase awareness and knowledge of how to care for different types of pets responsibly, particularly as winter approaches and temperatures drop.
Pet advisors will explain how to keep small animals safe and warm during the winter months, as outdoor rabbits and guinea pigs need particular care to protect them from extreme weather.
Store manager Simon Holt said: “We’ll be holding a variety of exciting workshops for children to take part in. Featuring pets from rabbits and guinea pigs to fish and wildlife, the workshops will be something fun and interesting for children to do over the half term holidays.”
Throughout half-term, children can also take part in Picnic Time, an interactive learning session, where they can watch the pets being fed their healthy afternoon snacks and learn about their feeding habits.
Picnic Time takes place every weekday at 4pm and at 2.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
