DISABLED pre-school children have been given a welcome boost thanks to the gritty efforts of a marathon runner.
Kay Fisher tackled the 26-mile Edinburgh route raising nearly £800 for the Bridge Centre, a base for the early years section of St Helens Council’s Children’s Disability Service.
It was Kay’s friend Rachel Henshaw who persuaded her to pick The Bridge Centre as her local cause. Rachel, who works for the council’s youth offending team, is the parent of a pre-school child at the centre.
Commenting on Kay’s achievement, friend Rachel said: “The Bridge Centre is a fantastic facility that provides assessments and support for pre-school children with disabilities.”
