A UNION is urging townsfolk to make their voices heard in its campaign to protect a popular centre for old folks.
The consultation over the future of Moss Bank Support Centre for Elderly Persons will come to an end on November 25.
After that St Helens Council will consider a report before reaching any decision on its future.
The local branch of public service union Unison wants as many people as possible to sign their petition supporting one of the options which will ensure that “our elderly people continue to live in the caring environment.”
A spokesman said: “It is time to stand up for older people who could include friends, family... or even yourself.”
Union stewards have been handing out the petition and anyone wishing to get hold of more copies can call in at their office 85-87 Corporation Street or call the Unison team on 01744 676971.
