I WOULD like to thank the kind lady that stopped and helped my mum to pick me up off the floor when I slipped in a puddle and fell over in the Hardshaw centre.
Being 8-and-a-half months pregnant, the lady and my mum were worried and suggested that I sit down on one of the benches outside of Poundland.
I have never seen so many faces with a look of utter shock and disgust as I did on the faces of the OAPs residing on them.
They appeared disgusted that someone had the cheek to suggest they move. I didn’t realise that they were reserved for the elderly. Needless to say, not one of them offered to move for me.
Luckily a kind lady from a nearby shop took me in and gave me a chair to sit on, whilst the security man took my details.
I wonder what would have been said if the situation had been reversed and it was an elderly person needing a seat, not a 21 year old, 8-and-a-half month pregnant lady!
Upset mum-to-be, Parr
