I would like to use the auspices of your paper to try to trace an old army buddy who originated from St Helens. His name is James (Jim) Lane. He would be around 73 years old and we served together in the R.A.P.C in Egypt during 1950/51.
In November '51 he returned to the U.K. for demob and I flew to Cyprus for a local release and from there emigrated to Israel, where I have lived since then.
We were both sergeants on release and my name (I have since changed it to a Hebrew name) was Dennis Perkoff. I have often thought of Jim and in my retirement would love to renew our acquaintance and catch up with the events of the last 53 years.
