THE CHARGE Residents Action group has been informed by an officer of St Helens Council that the residents of Argyle Street and Chapel Street will be given a decision by the end of August on the proposal to demolish their properties.
We appeal to the St Helens Council Executive Committee before they give an unfavourable decision and ask them to look into the letters and petitions that have been sent in by residents.
We have spent a lot of time collecting signatures from the neighbouring residents but the chief officers choose to ignore all attempts of any form of real consultation.
Surely the residents have a right to an explanation as to why their street has been chosen.
COULD St Helens Council also please tell me where they intend to re-house the people of Chapel Street and Argyle Street if their proposal to demolish the streets goes ahead. To buy properties of the same standard and in the close vicinity there is nothing less than £90,000. Is this what the Council intend to pay their owner occupiers. If not, where do they intend to house these residents?
