Winners of the St Helens Show Passport competition, which was promoted in the St Helens Star, were celebrating this week after scooping a whole host of fabulous prizes.
St Helens residents, Sylvia Reed and 10-year-old Lucy Peet were randomly selected as the winners from hundreds of entrants and were presented with their prizes by Deputy Council Leader John Fletcher, Councillor John Pinder (Executive Member for Social and Cultural Development) and Councillor Nancy Ashcroft.
Mrs Reed's passport opened the door to a clutch of prizes included a holiday voucher from Co-op Travel, family passes to Chester Zoo, the World of Glass and Liverpool Football Club Museum, cinema passes, meal vouchers and three-month gym membership at the Hilton Hotel.
The innovative competition was all part of the new-look St Helens Show, which this year placed greater emphasis on public participation and provided many new exciting attractions.
Lucy was presented with a Halfords bike voucher, a signed Saints' rugby ball and a family pass to LA Bowl and eighteen runners-up also received prizes.
The presentation took place at St Helens Town Hall and council officials were keen to thank all the companies that took part in the Passport competition promotion.
