AFTER an enormously successful two-year tour, the spectacular new production of Boublil and Schonberg's 'Miss Saigon' comes to Liverpool Empire next spring.
A completely new design for the production has been created with cutting edge visual techniques to vividly recreate the streets of Vietnam and Bangkok, including the memorable final helicopter flight from the roof of the American Embassy.
The internationally famous illustrator Gerald Scarfe joins theatrical director Cameron Mackintosh on this new production.
Set in 1975 during the final days leading up to the American evacuation of Saigon, the production is an epic love story about the relationship between an American GI and a young Vietnamese woman.
'Miss Saigon' has become the third most successful musical in the history of British Theatre and has been seen by over 31 million people world wide.
Stuart Dornford-May, Theatre Manager at the Liverpool Empire, said; "Boubil and Schonberg's Miss Saigon is a phenomenon that has captured the imagination of audiences all over the world.
"It's particularly fitting that we are able to announce dates for this superb show as we approach our Capital of Culture year here in Liverpool in 2008."
