SAINTS have been boosted by the news that stand-off Jason Hooper's jaw is not broken after initially fearing the worst on Sunday.

But Hooper, who was stretchered-off against Salford, is due to have further checks on his head before he gets the all-clear to play.

Coach Ian Millward explained: "The league have a rule now where players have to pass a head test, rather than being automatically out for two weeks.

"I am just happy his jaw is not broken."

Millward said the club would not be taking any action against the tackler.

"It was not conclusive enough and there is a fair bit of shoulder in the tackle.

"I am not in the business dobbing people in, that is up to the authorities to decide if further action was necessary," he said.

Saints face London on Friday night, a side who are cock-a-hoop after wins over Wigan and Widnes and a draw with Leeds.

Lee Gilmour, missing from the Salford game with a stomach bug, will return to the fold.

Maurie Fa'asavalu has recovered from a hamstring injury and also comes into the reckoning for the must win game.

"London's form is better than ours at the moment. They have got key players back like Jim Dymock. They are very confident," Millward said.

Millward, meanwhile, said he was no nearer to replacing Martin Gleeson, who was sold to Warrington last month.

"I still haven't got a centre. I am waiting to see if this team is going to be stronger next year. It won't be unless I buy someone.

"At present there is nobody there and I am looking all the time. I am working hard and feel as though I am spending too much time in looking. But it is my job to come up with somebody and get the right person.

"Centre is a bit of a premium position and at the moment in Australia there are none available.

"Just look how long it took Maurice Lindsay to recruit one for Wigan," he said.
