MAJOR plans for the further expansion of Ravenhead Park have been approved by St Helens Council with completion of the development expected to create over 1000 jobs and attract £100m in private sector investment in the town.
The Greenbank Partnership has successfully secured planning consent for an additional 36,000 sq ft of high quality office accommodation at the site combined with 25,000 sq ft of retail space, which will see additions to the already well-established retail tenants such as JJB, MFI, B&Q, PC World and Burger King.
David Baybutt, Director of Greenbank Partnerships, explained: "We are delighted with the news that the local authority has approved our plans for the next phase of development at Ravenhead Park.
Landmark
These consents will allow us to continue developing the park and not only improve the retail offering but also to create a landmark office building for the town."
Occupying a prime position just off the M62 linkway, the new office building will occupy one of the most visible gateway locations into the town and the expansion of the already successful retail park is aimed at attracting yet more big-name retailers.
Chris Baybutt, another Director of Greenbank Partnerships, said: "Ravenhead Park has already exceeded our expectations in terms of the retailers we have secured and the visitors we have attracted.
"Our future plans for the gateway park will hopefully further enhance the development and attract even more investment into the town."
Barrie Cochrane, of Cheetham Mortimer, is marketing Ravenhead Park on behalf of Greenbank and agrees that the park is set to go from strength to strength with many more prestigious retail chains in the offing.
He said: "We have a number of high profile operators looking to do business. With planning consent now secured I have every confidence in soon being able to announce several new additions to the tenant mix."
