The Cyril Pardoe Cup, Sunday, July 4.

In first place was Roger Peet, who caught throughout the match with long pole tactics.

He had roach, perch and bream for 8lbs-12ozs-0drms.

In second place was Eddie Cook again using long pole he caught roach and bream for 6-15-4.

Third place was Arthur Clapham with tench, roach and bream for 5-11-12.

Fourth place went to Ray Shorrocks on peg 52, with bream and skimmers for 5-11-8.

The match was fished on the upper pound section of the Sankey Canal, 30 anglers took part.

Ladies Section:

The Annette Grice Memorial Trophy, Saturday 3 July. (Lower Pound)

Irene Deakin romped away with the Annette Grice Memorial Trophy with over five pounds to spare on her nearest rival.

1st, Irene Deakin, 7-11-12, tench, roach and bream,

2nd, Shirley Dilsworth,1-4-8, roach and perch,

3rd, Lynn Marsden, 0-12-0, ide.

Junior Section: Heylock Trophy, over 12s, (Lower Pound)

Bream

Young Adam Martin caught small carp, bream and tench on long pole for 8-5-8.

Second place went to David Hay with bream, eel and perch on pole for 3-6-12.

Third place was Jason Finney with a carp and roach for 2-9-8.

The Yew Tree is fishing great for carp and silver fish.

The Sankey Brook is producing some good catches of chub throughout the Clayton House farm Stretch.

The Vulcan Reservoir remains closed for the moment due to the low water level.
