PLAYERS and officials of Blackbrook amateur rugby league club are mourning the death of physiotherapist Trevor Wiseman, who was found hanged last week.
The body of the 54-year-old was discovered in a disused warehouse in Shaw, Oldham, on Monday August 2.
Brook secretary Dave Hunt said: "We're all shocked and saddened to have learned of Trevor's death. Everybody is devastated it has come completely out of the blue.
"I hadn't seen him since the last game of the season so I don't know what mood he was in, but he always seemed a happy, cheerful bloke.
"He was a good physio, very dedicated and loyal. He joined us about six years ago and would travel from Oldham two or three times a week to be part of the club.
"The players are finding it hard to take. We held a minute's silence at a friendly and the lads want to put a plaque over the physio room in memory of him."
Mr Wiseman was also physio with the Lancashire amateur county squad and the BARLA Great Britain Lions, having recently returned from the ill-fated Australian tour with the open age squad.
His funeral service is due to take place tomorrow (Friday) at 10.30am, in Holy Trinity Church, Church Road, Shaw, Oldham.
