A HOUSE allegedly being used as a drugs den has been boarded up for the next three months. Police were granted the closure notice for 251 City Road, Windle City. The terrace was being rented by the same woman forced out of Lingholme Road, Queens Park, when police secured a landmark order in May.
Magistrates heard police had received a mountain of complaints about the City Road address. It is alleged drug users were picking up the fix of methadone and travel sickness pills cyclizine, a dangerous 'cocktail' which is said to give addicts a similar buzz to heroin.
Senior police officers applied for the latest order following drug raids on the house last week. Magistrates, meanwhile, also granted a three-month extension on the closure notice for the house in Lingholme Road.
