RECS grabbed a deserved win over second placed Colwyn Bay after producing another spectacular display.

After winning the toss and put the visitors in to bat on a green wicket Orchard and Garvey again provided the perfect start removing the first three batsmen with only 15 runs on the board.

Clubb was the only Colwyn batsman to provide resistance as the opening bowlers steadily sent batsmen back to the pavilion.

With the score on 38 for 6 Recs looked in total control until Clubb (43) provided some hard hitting in a desperate effort to provide his team with something to bowl at.

He was last man out as Garvey and Orchard, having bowled all the way through, shared the wickets between them.

Colwyn Bay were dismissed for 73 from 33.5 overs, Orchard returning figures of 4 for 39 from 17 overs and Garvey a superb 6 for 33 from 16.5.

In reply Critchley (10) took the score to 22 before Recs lost their first wicket.

There was a mini collapse as Recs stuttered to 52 for 5 but Malone killed the game off with a quickfire 15 from 15 balls.

Recs passed the required total reaching 74 for 6 from 28.1 overs to take a well deserved win.

The 2nd XI made the long journey to Lytham and winning the toss put the home side in to bat first.

With another holiday depleted side the Recs bowlers struggled on a good wicket.

Swain finished with 1 for 28 from 5 and Heatherington 1 for 18 from 6 but it was Stocks who was the pick of the bowling finishing with 3 for 48 from 14 as Lytham posted a formidable score of 186 for 5 from 40 overs.

In reply Recs got off to a disasterous start losing their first five batsmen with only 18 on the board.

Lyon (32) and Heatherington (11) provided the only resistance but they could not stop the home side recording the victory as Recs were bowled out for 72 from 23.3 overs.

The 3rd XI played hosts to Liverpool 4 who won the toss and elected to bat.

Recs young side produced an excellent display of bowling as scoring was painfully slow. Having used nine different bowlers Recs eventually dismissed Liverpool for 118 from a mammoth 61 overs.

The pick of the bowling was Craig Woods with 1 for 25 from 18, Sharratt 1 for 9 from 3 and Giglio 1 for 14 from 11.

The Liverpool total included four run outs. In reply Recs looked to be favorites reaching 55 for 4 but when Paul Woods went for 26 the innings faltered.

Only Burrows (19) provided any more resistance as the Liverpool attack ripped through the young tail.

Recs eventually capitulated reaching 82 all out from 32.3 overs.

Next week the 1st XI travel to Liverpool whilst the 2nd XI play hosts to top of the table Sefton Park at Ruskin Drive.
