THE 13th annual Southport Air Show and Military Display will once again be jetting into the resort this year on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September, and we have four family tickets to give away free to readers.

The event, which takes place at the seafront, is one of the country's premier aviation events and attracts more than 200,000 people every year.

The air show and military display starts at 10am on both days with displays from the Southport Model Aero Club followed by the large aircraft at 1pm.

Among the highlights are a simulated battle on the beach with special effects from the team behind the film 'Saving Private Ryan' and the return of the legendary display team, the Red Arrows.

Visitors will enjoy a comprehensive programme on both days with military and civilian aircraft, including fast jets, vintage aircraft, helicopters, aerobatic and model aircraft, military manoeuvres, wing walkers and parachute displays.

On the beach the Army Village is twice the size of last year with features including armoured vehicles, artillery and assault course. Other ground entertainment includes interactive and commercial trade stands, the Rock FM arena and bands.

Tickets are available at the gate for £4 for pedestrians and children under seven are free of charge. Priority beach parking costs £20 a car with all other seafront parking at £17 a car. Both include passengers. For more information go to www.southportairshow.com or telephone (01704) 395511.

We have four car passes for the Saturday up for grabs, which includes entry for the passengers and car parking. For a chance of winning one, just answer the following question: How many years has Southport Air Show been held?
