IN response to 'Saints at Haydock - not on your nelly!' (Dear Star, August 12) I find P Lever's comments quite offensive. I also take note that I have not seen any letter from this person supporting Stan Robert's campaign to have FULL hospital facilities for the residents of St Helens within the Borough.
Therefore, it appears that under no circumstances does P Lever want the Saints Ground at Haydock but appears to accept hospital facilities OUTSIDE the Borough at Whiston. I think this writer has got their priorities wrong.
Whilst we are referring to 'Saints' let us not forget there are far more important issues within the Borough that need addressing and Stan's suggestion of a multi-purpose stadium at Haydock, which would benefit the whole community and could be used 365 days a year rather than just '26 men punching an oval bag of wind about once every two weeks'.
Finally, a team that loses 70-nil to Leeds, I think its time that THEY took up knitting, not Stan.
