CATNAPPERS made off with four kittens when they sneaked into a rescue home last Tuesday evening.
Susan Hoyle, Manager of St Helens Cats Protection League is desperate for the return of the animals, who are so young that they may not survive without their mother. She said: "Some of them need medication so we need them back here."
Staff at the centre suspect that the sneak thieves broke into the pens and released several kittens. Most were eventually rounded up but four, aged from four to ten weeks old, are still missing.
The break in happened between 5.15pm and 6.30pm on Tuesday August 17. Susan said that they would not report the thieves; they just want the cats returned.
If anyone has any information please contact staff at the shelter on 01744 817718.
