CALLING all school leavers. If you have the dedication to become a successful entrepreneur, want to work within an office environment or just develop a number of skills you can use within a variety of industries, then take a look at the Business programmes on offer at St Helens College.
Many of the courses can lead to careers within accountancy, marketing, human resources, public relations and e-Commerce. They combine a variety of modules that will develop your skills within Finance, ICT, Management Accounting and Business Law, so you will gain an all-round knowledge of the world of business.
And if you are thinking about a career within administration you could enrol on an Office and IT procedures (16-18) programme which incorporates training in the latest software packages.
Nineteen-year-old Katherine Tran, (right) currently studying for a Double AVCE Award in Business at the College, explains the benefits of the course: "I went to see a Connexions Adviser and they recommended that I study a business programme, so I decided to come to St Helens College, as the course gives you a wide coverage of business and you get to learn a lot of different things.
"I really enjoy the style of teaching at the College. You are treated as an adult and completing the work and attending classes on time is all down to you and your own self discipline. One of my favourite modules so far has been Finance.
"This was particularly useful as I want to be an accountant when I have finished my studies.
"The lecturers are also really friendly and are very easy to talk to if you need any help with your course."
