SAINTS have signed Samoan utility player Gray Viane from Aussie club West Tigers - and the 22-year-old is in line to play against Huddersfield on Friday night.
The club confirmed today Viane, a centre or back-rower, has signed a two-year deal and is expected to line at up at centre for Saints' home clash with Huddersfield despite only being due to arrive in the country tomorrow morning.
Viane will boost the depth of a Saints squad hit by injuries and suspension. After representing Australia at schoolboy level Viane's career has been interrupted by injury, but after playing reserve grade for the Tigers he has since figured in the NRL, according to Saints.
Coach Ian Millward said: "We've been watching Gray carefully and he reminds me of a young Fereti Tuilagi.
"It's terrific that he can join us right away as he will hit the ground running at the start of nest season."
