A LIVERPOOL charity have been put in the picture with their latest fundraiser, thanks to St Helens artist Karen Adamson, who has donated a piece of her artwork as a raffle prize.
The fundraising event has been initiated by members of Millennium Volunteers (MV), a government-funded initiative for young people, encouraging them to get involved in local issues.
Karen's painting will be one of the prizes in a raffle due to be drawn in October this year.
The volunteers are raising money for a charity called L'Arche, based in Kensington, Liverpool, who look after people in the local community who have a learning disability.
The money raised will be for a sensory room and a sensory garden that will allow users to experience sensations and develop.
The target amount is £7,000, which the volunteers plan to raise through bag packs in supermarkets, a fashion show, a five-day Hadrian's Wall walk and raffling Karen's artwork.
Anyone between the ages of 16 and 24 can be an MV, helping others while doing something they enjoy.
Projects include sports coaching, environmental issues, youth leadership, music and dance.
Through volunteering the youngsters involved can make a positive difference to their own lives and their community.
