THE 12th annual Laurel and Hardy convention organised by The Bacon Grabbers Tent of The Sons of The Desert will be on Saturday September 4 from 1pm-8pm at The Beer Engine pub, Poolstock Road, Wigan.

With admission at £5 for adults and £3 for children, this is a 'must' for all fans of Laurel and Hardy and is the largest one-day event in the UK devoted to Stan and Ollie.

They will be showing complete the Spanish extended version of The Laurel-Hardy Murder Case, where the boys speak Spanish phonetically, plus clips from the recently-discovered German-speaking versions, a story that made national TV and national newspapers earlier this month.

There will also be camcordered highlights of last month's International Convention in Columbus, Ohio, plus a camcordered interview with staff from the Laurel and Hardy Museum in Ollie's home town of Harlem, Georgia.

Look-alikes Stan Slade and Robbie Graham will be wandering through the audience performing magic tricks, and there will be a new live sketch show performed by the Southend Sons of the Desert.

There will be an auction of memorabilia for Nancy Wardell's (Stan Laurel's relative) Charity Appeal, plus memorabilia stalls, poster displays, and hot food is available all day.

And of course they will be screening some rare and classic Laurel and Hardy short films!
