AS an ex St Helens resident I was browsing on the internet on the St Helens Chat site and was absolutely disgusted to see a photograph of the little lake in Taylor Park as it appears to be at present, dry, overgrown with weed.
As kids we used to spend most summers in the park, boating and swimming in the 'big' lake. I suppose that's no longer permitted? But the little lake would be packed with kids of families from miles around, they even came from Liverpool to spend the day there.
Come on St Helens Council get your act together. You've a lot to answer for allowing the parks to be reduced to tips. The young today don't know what they are missing. I think our generation had the best times.
