TONIGHT (Thursday 2 September) Twobar Productions present a very special performance from Amrit Sond at The Green Room, Duke Street, St Helens.
Amrit has graced the same billing as some of the world's most renowned guitarists on the scene today: Dominic Miller (Sting), Hugh Burns (George Michael), Ronnie Johnson (Van Morrison, Leo Sawyer), Mike Messer, Clive Carroll and John Etheridge to name but a few.
Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, Amrit's unique music draws on elements of jazz, classical, folk, rock and new acoustic techniques, all honed into a highly refined and melodically driven sound.
Having featured on BBC Radio and played the Cambridge Folk Festival, London Guitar Festival and the Acoustic Avalon Show in Leicester, this is a fantastic opportunity to watch Amrit perform in this intimate setting.
Support comes from The Nihilites, a duo who have been impressing audiences with their fresh sound that explores rocksteady, funk and soul influences, blended with beautiful harmonies.
The Twobar crew will return on Tuesday 7 September at the Zoo Bar on Westfield Street, with a line-up that boasts The Stags, Wolfglory and the Hairy Angels, plus DJ Rasp (The Shakti).
Both events start at 9pm with free admission.
