SUTTON have called upon all former players to help mark the cricket club's 140th anniversary.
The ever popular New Street club will play host to a celebration of cricket on Saturday, September 18.
Among the activities during the day will be an under 13s eleven versus a Wigan side. followed by a select team of ex-players who will do battle against the current first eleven.
Off the field there will be chance to meet and chat to past players, staff and members along with a trip down memory lane through an exhibition of memorabilia.
Once the senior game is complete there will be a buffet in the main clubhouse followed by a review of the day and some old stories to be told by one of our ex-players and popular local after dinner speakers.
There will be supporting events held throughout the day so please come along and enjoy a day of nostalgia.
This invitation is extended to members, players, staff and friends from present and past and also to players and friends from opposing clubs regardless of which sport. All are welcome.
For further information please contact Bryan Wearden or Andy Brogan via the club on 01744 812266.
Sutton Cricket Club was originally on the site of St Helens Town ground until Colonel Michael Hughes donated the current ground at New Street in the early part of the 20th Century.
