THE 26 annual Moss Bank Gala will take place on Saturday, September 11, on the green opposite The Black Horse pub.
A parade with homemade carnival hats and the crowning of a gala queen will be the highlight of the event, from which proceeds go to local charities.
There will be activities throughout the afternoon, including races, a tug o' war and flat cap throwing contest.
Children can experience the fairground as adults look round the cake stalls, exhibitions and listen to the Parr band.
A roadshow will also keep the teenagers happy throughout the afternoon, which ends with a presentation of prizes for the homemade cakes, plants and fruit and veg.
A hot-pot supper in the Mission in the evening will be followed by a talk by Chris Coffey, an expert on Laurel and Hardy.
Everyone is welcome to come along. Tickets are £3.50 and are available from Rita Allcock on 631091.
