ENGINES are already revving as Liverpool gears up for this year's Motorshow Northwest, held at Aintree Racecourse on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 September, and we have five family tickets to give away for the event.

The event will feature an impressive showcase of display and vintage and collector's cars, motorbikes, racing cars, scooters, sports cars, customised vehicles, off road vehicles, aftermarket products, services and more.

Many of the region's dealers are attending the show, which will feature hundreds of vehicles representing almost every manufacturer in the UK.

Jaguar will be displaying a number of their vehicles, including the XJ220, which once held the title of fastest road car, and the F1 racing car. A Jaguar XKR, which featured in the James Bond film 'Die Another Day', will also be on display.

The fabulous Russ Swift Display Team will drive a variety of vehicles on two wheels and complete parallel parking manoeuvres, skids and reversals.

Visitors with a passion for motorbikes won't be disappointed with motorcycle dealers and clubs from across the region attending, with the latest models and examples of high performance and customised bikes.

The Over The Top Motorcycle Display Team stunt riders will be showing off their skills and Tony Green's magical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be at the event with the opportunity to win a ride in the famous flying car.

BSM will also be on site doing 150 drives a day with their early drive programme for 14 year olds and over, including non-qualified drivers.

Costume characters from film and TV will be mingling with the crowds, along with entertainers, presenters and interviewers from TV and radio.

Plus, one lucky visitor will leave with the keys to a new Fiat Idea. This is the star prize, the proceeds from which will go to the North West Air Ambulance Service, who will have one of their fleet of helicopters on display over the weekend.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Sefton will open the event at 10am on Saturday morning and on Sunday the Lord Mayor of Liverpool will start proceedings at 10am. Both days are open until 5pm.

Entry is £7 for adults or £3 for children, with a pre booked family ticket on offer for £18.
