WE the people of St Helens are led to believe that the closing of care homes are due to the council struggling financially, so why do they intend to waste vast amounts of money in compensation if their proposal to demolish Chapel and Argyle Street goes ahead. Why uproot these residents who do not wish to leave their well-maintained properties. Surely this money would be best reinvested back into the care homes thus solving two unnecessary predicaments.
Mrs J Cook, Oxford Street, St Helens.
