A MASKED gang snatched a cash box from a security guard making a delivery at a shop. The guard was dropping the cash at the McColls General Store, Four Acre Lane, Clock Face, when four men wearing dark balaclavas or ski masks pulled up alongside in a blue VW Golf.
They ordered him to drop the box and then stole it. Their car was later found abandoned at the Bull and Dog pub car park, Marshalls Cross Road. A police spokeswoman said it is unclear whether the gang were armed. Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the robbery at 6.20pm on Thursday, September 2.
The driver of the car is described as 20 to 25 years old, of slim build, with a thin face, and short mousy blond hair.
Another robber had short black hair, a moustache and possibly a beard.
Anyone with information about the robbery or who witnessed the VW Golf being abandoned are urged to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
