Pilks Recs 62 Haresfinch 12
PILKS scored a big win against neighbours Finch, who lost big prop forward Andy Liptrot with a badly cut head early on. Pilkingtons scored two quick tries when centre Ted Rawsthorne scooped up a loose ball to open the scoring, and winger James Lacey doubled the lead moments later after fine work by Andy Lyons.
Finch hit back with a length of the field score when winger Adam Walsh burst out of his own half to run 60 metres for a try and then added his own conversion.
Pilkingtons then scored two converted tries to make it 20-6 at half time when substitute Rick Shaw bulldozed his way over, and then full-back Mark Ashton regathered his own chip kick for a superb try.
In the second period Pilks grabbed more tries with Ashton completing a hat-trick, and further scores coming from Chris Bailey (2) Tim Critchley (2), Gaz Friar and John Rees. Bailey converted four tries and Barry Pope kicked three.
Finch scored a consolation try through Lee Burke, converted by Walsh.
The man of the match for Finch was stand off Richard Twist.
